Express Entry for Canada Immigration In 2022

What is the Express Entry Program?

Canada’s Express Entry policy is the fastest and the most efficient way to enter Canada in 2022. This immigration policy paves the way for permanent residence for skilled workers in Canada or abroad. Till 2020, the processing time for the applications was up to 6 but will decrease tremendously as soon as the backlogs of 2020 are met.

With the help of this policy, Canada enables the country with declining birth rates to meet labor gaps. The criteria to choose candidates for this program is selecting those who are likely to succeed in the country economically. If you are someone who would like to move to Canada and think about your aspirations and skills and contribute to the economy of the country, this is your time!

We at A2W will guide you to understand Canada’s point-based system which has replaced the previous first-come-first-served based making the competition fair. We will help you build your CV that will bring in the desired offers from Canada.

Express Entry (EE) is a technique for applying for Canadian immigration online.  It enables anyone to create a profile and get shortlisted for skilled immigration to Canada. The highest-ranking candidates are invited to apply for permanent residency.

Scores required for Canada Express Entry in 2022

If you submit an Express Entry profile, your application will be graded using a points system. You will be invited to apply for permanent residence as a skilled immigrant if you are highly ranked. Following your application, your PR process will be completed within 6 months.

To qualify applicants who wish to settle in Canada, the Canada Express Entry system uses a points-based methodology. This is known as the Comprehensive Ranking System, or CRS. CRS is used to award points to candidates. To be chosen in a draw to immigrate to Canada as a permanent resident, you must have at least the minimum CRS score. To be qualified for the Express Entry program in 2022, you must have a minimum score of 67 out of 100.

What factors determine Your EE profile points?

Your Express Entry profile will be awarded points based on the following criteria:

  • Your degree of education;
  • Your English and/or French (Canada’s two official languages) skills;
  • Work experience and abilities;
  • Your age factors
  • If you’ve been offered a job in Canada; and
  • Your partner’s educational background. Their language skills, and professional experience.
  • If you have finished a college or university program in Canada or have a provincial nomination, you receive additional points.

What makes you eligible to apply for Express Entry?

English/French language proficiency and double bachelors or masters are the minimum requirements to apply for this program. However, this program has 3 broad sub-programs and each one largely has its requirements.

The three programs are as follows:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program Eligibility

12 months of full-time work in the skill applied for within the past 10 years.

Level 7 as per the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in an approved English or French language test. An equivalent of a Canadian high School from any Canadian or foreign institute.

Proof of enough funds to support them and their family moving to Canada if any.

  1. Federal Skilled Trade Program Eligibility:

A full-time offer lasting at least 12 months or a certificate in a particular skill issued by the Canadian or territorial authority.

Level 4 as per the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) in an approved English or French language test.

  1. Canadian Experience Class-Eligibility:

The CEC applicants should have worked in Canada within the past 10 to three years.

A minimum of 12 continuous months of work experience is a requirement for this sub-program.

It should meet the condition of meeting it 6 months before the date of submission through EAPT (Electronic application for permanent residence).

The above-mentioned are the various ways you can enter Canada through this portal.

Nurtured skills are a guiding factor to the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.

We will now mention how you can proceed to apply for the above schemes.

How does EE select PR candidates?

  • When you submit a profile, it will be added to a pool (group) of all people who have applied for Express Entry at the time.
  • After that, you’ll be ranked against the other participants in the pool.
  • The quantity of points you have determines your ranking.
  • Your profile will be chosen (picked) from the list of applicants if you are at the top of the rankings.

As a skilled migrant, you will then receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency. The IRCC keeps track of the number of ITAs issued and the minimum amount of points required to obtain one.

Application Process for Express Entry Program

  • The application process requires the submission of certain documents including

    – Education credential assessment report

    – Language test results

    – A Travel document and a passport

You would require an impressive profile, which we at A2W will help you build.

A good profile will help you receive an offer from a Canadian institute or firm. After receiving the offer, a more substantial profile will be needed with information like reference letters, additional identity documents, police clearance certificates, and results of a medical examination. The eligibility will then be tested according to the three broad programs provided under the Canadian Express Entry scheme.

What will be your total investment during the Canada Express Entry Application?

  • You will be required to pay no fee during your initial profile entry process. You will be required to pay a certain amount when you receive a job offer from Canada and an additional amount if you fit in the PNP (Provincial Nominee Program).

Further costs incurred in this process are mentioned below:

    1. Language tests:  $300
    2. Educational Credential Assessment (ECA):  $200
    3. Biometrics:$85
    4. Government fees: $1,325/adult / $225/child
    5. Medical examination fees: average cost –$450/adult / $250/child
    6. Police clearance certificates:  $100/country

You may verify these figures on the official Canadian website.

You should note that within any program, it is important to demonstrate that you will be able to meet the funds required during your stay.  Foreign nationals who wish to apply for Canadian permanent residency must show that they can financially support their settlement in Canada. While spousal sponsorship applicants and refugee claimants are exempt from this requirement, the vast majority of applicants will be required to show proof of means to financial support.

Express Entry Changes in 2022

Travel restrictions will be lifted while maintaining Covid -19 protocols. Canada hopes to welcome 411,000 new immigrants in 2022. This number is supposed to be consistent, at least for the next couple of years. Anyone wanting to do any kind of business will be happy to know that half of the projected economic admissions will be through the Federal Express Entry Program.

PNP plays an important role when it comes to immigration. This enables the current workforce to nominate people for permanent residence which will make the whole functioning very smooth in the long run.
