AIPP Extension and Updates 2021

AIPP Extension and Updates 2021

The AIPP or Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is the Atlantic Provinces’ most recent immigration program, which was developed in collaboration with the federal government.

Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland, and Labrador are among the key Atlantic provinces participating in the AIPP program.

The AIPP was launched in March 2017 and started accepting applications for Canadian permanent residency.

Initially, AIPP was supposed to be operational for three years.

The three-year pilot program was created to address specific needs, such as skilled labor and immigration, creativity, smart development and climate change, trade and commerce, and construction.

The initiative was meant to last from 2017 to 2020, but it has now been extended for another two years, to the end of 2021.

This extension will provide IRCC with more time to examine the program’s long-term effectiveness and impact on the Atlantic region of Canada.

Recent updates on AIPP:

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP), which was set to end in December 2021, has now become permanent, according to the Canadian government.

According to a statement on the IRCC website, “The government has agreed to make this trial a permanent initiative as a result of its success.”

It will remain a major regional trade immigration program, complementing each Atlantic province’s PNPs.

This will prove to be a piece of great news for many of you who had hoped to come to Canada but we’re worried that you will not be able to participate in the program.

One of the reasons for the AIPPs extraordinary popularity is that almost anyone can apply, regardless of their trade or career. Also, unlike other programs, age is not a hindrance in the AIPP.

As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, the year 2020 was a difficult one for all countries around the planet.

Several lockdowns enacted to stop the virus from spreading resulted in business closures and a considerable decline in hiring. This, without a doubt, harmed the AIPP and other employment-based initiatives.

This year, Canada has already begun a campaign to vaccinate all Canadians.

The success of AIPP, together with other incentives provided by the Canadian government to entrepreneurs, will result in more firms reopening, new ones popping up, and more jobs being created.

Several changes have been made in addition to the lengthening of the program.

  • In contrast to the former 12-month restriction, international as graduates you now have 24 months to apply to become permanent residents (PR). This will provide recent graduates with enough time to obtain full-time employment and apply for PR through the AIPP.
  • Employers in the healthcare industry now have more options when it comes to hiring internationally qualified nurses to work as ongoing care or personal care support employees in Atlantic Canada.
  • The AIPP now gives Atlantic provinces more freedom in choosing the jobs they want to fill. This enables provinces to assess their immediate labor market requirements.
  • Before awarding a work permit, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will now analyze your language, education, and work experience.

This will ensure that as potential candidates you have the abilities needed to do the jobs well and become Permanent Residents.

AIPP will turn into a Permanent Program in 2022

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) will become permanent on January 1, 2022, according to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The High-Skilled Workers Stream, Intermediate-Skilled Workers Stream, and International Graduates Stream were the three primary streams of AIPP earlier.

On December 31, 2021, these streams will be phased off and replaced on January 1, 2022.

At this point, the IRCC will provide more information on the eligibility conditions.

Even though the program will officially finish on December 31, the ICCRC will continue to accept applications until March 5, 2022, from those who have a valid provincial endorsement.

Atlantic Immigration Class – Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) will be the name of the new permanent economic immigration category.

The new Atlantic Immigration Program will begin on January 1, 2022, according to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

For the most up-to-date information on the program, see AIPP’s official website.

All previous Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program employer certifications will expire on December 31, 2021.

Employers will need to be reclassified to engage in the new Atlantic Immigration Program.

All AIPP-endorsed individuals must apply for permanent residence by March 5, 2022.
